Course Description
Overview
Examines the impact of new technologies and photography on culture and analyzes the global social change achieved by current and historical movements in photography. Investigates how photography in new media influences current perceptions of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and cultural identity from a historical, philosophical, political, and aesthetic context. Highlights student research, writing, and reporting, both individually and as part of a learning community. This honors course provides enhanced academic rigor with demands that exceed those of a standard version of the course. May be offered in a distance-learning format. Honors standing required. CAB GE C, CSU GE C1, C2 (Beg. F'24), IGETC 3A, 3B (Beg. F'24).
