Course Description
Overview
Presents an introduction to the world of living things. Topics include molecular and cell biology, genetics, biotechnology, human biology, diversity of life, evolution, and ecology. Emphasis is on current biological issues. Recommended for non-biology majors or prospective biology majors who lack previous high school biology coursework. May be offered in a distance-learning format. Transfers to CSU; UC, with conditions: No credit if taken after BIO 1A, 1B, 1C, 9A, or 9B. CAB GE B2, B3, CSU GE B2, B3, IGETC 5B, 5C.
