Course Description
Overview
In this three-course curriculum, you will learn about the value and process of moving from legacy databases into cloud-native databases. In the first course, you will learn why you would want to break free from legacy databases and the key factors to consider in choosing a cloud-native database. Then in the next two courses, you can either follow along, or view walk-through tutorial examples of moving to a cloud-native relational database, such as Amazon Aurora, or a cloud-native NoSQL database, such as Amazon DynamoDB.

Curriculum objectives
In this curriculum, you will learn to:
- Explain the value of using cloud-native databases to meet specific application needs
- Explain the value of moving from a legacy database into a cloud-native database solution
- Identify the factors you need to consider when moving to a cloud-native database
- Migrate from a legacy Oracle database to a cloud-native relational database with Amazon Aurora
- Migrate from a legacy Microsoft SQL Server database to a cloud-native NoSQL database with Amazon DynamoDB
