Overview
Appreciate the key themes and traditions portrayed by famous Argentine authors
This course explores Argentine culture from the perspectives of three renowned writers: María Teresa Andruetto, Jorge Luis Borges, and Julio Cortázar.
On this course, you will focus on a selection of their works that reflect important aspects of Argentine culture and history through their characters and settings.
Through these readings, you will discover the city of Córdoba and the countryside, the plains of the gauchos and the river banks, and Buenos Aires. You will compare the works of these famous authors and gain an appreciation of their individual styles.
This course is for anyone interested in Argentine literature, culture, and the works of Andruetto, Borges, and Cortázar. No specific knowledge is necessary, however, it’s advisable that you be able to read the texts in Spanish.
