Course Description

Overview

In this project, you will explore the pivot-table tactics applied in Google Sheets to create crosstabs and conduct a preliminary—exploratory—analysis of the data within the report. You will also conduct Pearson’s correlation testing and determine how best to visually present those results so that you can aid the audience’s discovery of insights from the data story. To do this you will work in the free-to-use spreadsheet software Google Sheets.

We rarely have an unlimited amount of time to find the actions in our data, so it is key to leverage tools that expedite that process. Crosstab reports can accelerate the analysis process because they present select slices of data in a matrix format making it easier to visualize patterns and explore similarities and differences between categories or variables.

By the end of this project, you will be able to perform correlation testing, interpret the test statistics, and apply pivot table tactics to create crosstab reports that will communicate the data story using any spreadsheet software.

Note: This course works best for learners who are based in the North America region. We’re currently working on providing the same experience in other regions.
